Insurance 101: FAQs

Our Insurance 101 blog series aims to help you understand the basics of how your insurance policy covers products from Feminine Forms, prepare you to use your insurance policy to cover your needs, and give you the information you need to advocate for yourself with your insurance company. This post will briefly answer some frequently asked questions, please check our other posts for more detailed information.

Q: What health insurance plans do you accept? What health insurance companies are you contracted in-network with?

A: We are contracted in-network with most commercial insurance companies. If you want to double check that we are contracted with your insurance company, give us a call! We are also Medicare accredited and accept Medicare and Medicaid insurance plans.

Q: Can you help me understand my health insurance coverage, including deductibles and coinsurance?

A: Every insurance company and individual policy is different. We will do our best to get information on your policy before your appointment so we understand where you stand with your deductible and out-of-pocket costs. While we are not experts on your policy, we will work with your insurance company to have all the information we can to help. We have other blog posts explaining insurance key terms and our process at Feminine Forms.

Q: Can you provide information on out-of-pocket expenses and how they are calculated under my insurance plan?

A: We can do our best to predict your out-of-pocket expenses based on the information we get from your insurance company. If you are aware of your current deductible and out-of-pocket information as well as your co-insurance rate, that helps us predict your out-of-pocket expenses from Feminine Forms.

Q: Are there any specific products that may not be covered by my insurance plan?

A: Yes, you can look at our post detailing products covered by insurance to get a better idea of what may or may not be covered by your plan.

Q: What if I don’t have an insurance policy?

A: No worries! We will work with you to find the products that you need and give you the best possible price. You are welcome to use a credit/debit card, cash, check, or a Health Savings Account (HSA) to pay for your products.

Q: Can I pay with a Health Savings Account (HSA)?

A: Absolutely! A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a tax-advantaged financial account that individuals in the United States can use to save money for qualified medical expenses. These medical expenses include durable medical equipment (DME) - and most of the products in our store fall into that category!

Q: How do you handle the billing process with my insurance company? What about secondary insurance?

A: We do everything we can to file claims directly with your insurance company. You will sign an assignment of benefits agreement that allows us to receive payment directly from your insurance. Then you will only have to pay the out-of-pocket costs. We will also file claims with your secondary insurance company.
